IsoTool™ in Condensate – Time, Cost & Integrity

Client request

The client approached Integral about utilizing the IsoTool to provide isolation of a 20” condensate pipeline to facilitate the replacement of the gates and seals in the 16” trap bypass valve and the 20” trap mainline valve.

The best solution

These valves were making the frequent cleaning and inspection pig launches challenging and maintenance of the valves was required.

Plan and deliver

The IsoTool was pumped out 50’ past the mainline valve and was set in 46 minutes. The pressure US of the IsoTool was dropped to zero, while the DS side was holding 180 psi. The valve maintenance was completed and the IsoTool was unset after holding for 12 hours.

Service completion

After all the mechanical and electrical work was completed the pressure across the IsoTool was equalized and the tool was unset in 49 minutes.
