IsoTool™ Fixes Both Ends

In a single pig run the 12” IsoTool isolated both the launch and receive traps to allow for 19 new valves to be installed.

The best solution

The client wanted to replace all the valves at the launch and receive trap, and called upon the IsoTool to provide fitting free isolation at both ends of the pipeline.

Plan and deliver

The IsoTool was launched out 60’ and set in under 40 minutes. After a successful Isolation Assurance Test, the launcher was drained down and 10 valves were replaced.

The IsoTool was unset, pumped 17 miles and parked 180’ upstream of the receive trap valve. After the IsoTool was set, and the Isolation Assurance Test passed, the receive trap was drained and 9 valves were changed out.

Service completion

The IsoTool was unset and pumped into the trap, where it was pulled and found to have significant paraffin buildup on the front two modules of the tool. This buildup did not affect the holding capabilities of the IsoTool.
