Anomaly in Casing Removed – Isolated by the IsoTool

Client requested |
An in-line inspection revealed an anomaly in a casing that ran under rail tracks and a busy highway. Rather than perform an HDD the client decided to isolate the section of pipe, pull it out, and replace it with new pipe in the existing casing.
|
Understanding the best solution |
The client called upon Integral and the 16” IsoTool to plug off the DS side, while using a mainline valve as the US isolation point.
|
Planning and delivery |
The IsoTool was tracked and successfully parked DS of the cut-out area. Once the IsoTool was set, the client drained up 550’ of pipe, and cut out the 300’ section in the casing.

Service completion report |
Many comments were made about how much simpler this method was than conventional means. Minimal downtime was critical and a purge would have created an outage that was not ideal and leaving a full-bore tap fitting on the line was also not desirable. The IsoTool controlled both of these problems with a “simple” solution. |
